A gentler way to be with what is

Reality happened once.
The mind can replay it a thousand times.

A conversation ends. You understand why it affected you. And still, later, your mind goes back.

Not because there is anything wrong with you.
Something simply still feels unfinished.

Rytis Luko Feeling. Gentleness. Reality.

Does this feel familiar?

Some moments last much longer than they actually lasted.

The conversation may have taken five minutes.

But later, it can continue for hours.

What you could have said.

What they should have said.

The moment you wish had gone differently.

Maybe you froze. Maybe you said something you did not mean. Maybe nothing dramatic happened at all.

And still, later, the mind returns. Not to the conversation exactly as it happened. But to what it could have been.

The mind is remarkably creative. It can return to one moment again and again, each time trying a slightly different version.

And somewhere in that movement is something worth noticing.

A different way of seeing

We may be trying to find a version of what happened that feels easier to live with.

At some point, we may no longer be trying to understand what happened.
We may be looking for a different ending.

Reality happened one way. The mind keeps showing us other possibilities.

This is where an ordinary habit like replaying a conversation opens into something much deeper.

Not a problem with thinking.
A relationship with reality.

And sometimes, peace begins not by finding the perfect version,
but by noticing the one reality already here.

Where my work begins

What becomes possible when another version is no longer required?

Nothing to force.
Nothing to make wrong.

Not because the original version was good. Not because we should approve of it.

Not because we should force ourselves to accept it.

The mind may simply be trying to help.

Trying to protect us from disappointment, embarrassment, rejection, uncertainty or loss.

Seeing the moment clearly

Separating what happened from everything the mind says should have happened.

Meeting yourself gently

Without making your reaction another problem to solve.

Feeling what is here

Instead of explaining it away, fixing it or analysing it beautifully.

Staying with yourself

Even when reality is uncomfortable.

Before you go, try this with one moment

Bring to mind a conversation you keep replaying. Take a moment with these two questions.

First, notice what the mind is doing

What am I trying to make different right now?

Then, turn toward the feeling

What do I feel when I allow it to have happened exactly as it happened?

No need to find the right answer. Just notice what comes up.

When understanding isn’t enough

I know the pattern.
Why do I still do it?

For many people, this is the real frustration.

The insight is already there. They can explain the pattern perfectly.

But the reaction keeps returning.

That may be the point where more explanation stops helping and another kind of attention becomes possible.

Different moments. A familiar movement.

Where does the argument show up for you?

01

The past keeps returning

I keep replaying conversations

I need closure

I can’t let go of what happened

I keep imagining how things should have gone

02

Being seen by others

I need people to understand me

I am scared of rejection

03

Trying to get it right

I can’t stop second-guessing myself

I want certainty before I can relax

I know the pattern, but I still do it

I cannot stop trying to fix myself

Meet Rytis

What happens when we stop fighting reality long enough to actually experience it?

Rytis has spent years exploring this question. His work explores feeling, gentleness, inner conflict and seeing what is actually here.

Not becoming a better version of yourself.
Learning how to stay with yourself as you are.

His particular gift is taking an ordinary moment, a conversation, a rejection, a decision, a thought that will not leave, and revealing the deeper conflict hidden inside it.

A note now and then

For people who have understood themselves to death.

Occasional notes and videos on feeling, internal conflict,
overthinking, gentleness and reality.

You may not need another answer.

You may need somewhere to stop looking for one.
